Charlotte, NC: Transport drivers needed to help shelter pets!
Details
Description
Are you passionate about animals and enjoy driving? Best Friends Animal Society is looking for volunteer transport drivers in your area to help save the lives of shelter pets.
As a volunteer transport driver, you'll play a critical role by helping animals move from overcrowded shelters in North Carolina to areas where they have a better chance at finding loving homes. Your efforts will not only help pets get adopted faster but also free up space and resources for animals still waiting for their second chance.
Volunteer transport drivers are needed to assist a Best Friends staff member with transporting shelter animals from North Carolina shelters to Virginia or surrounding areas.
Here's how you can help:
When: Twice a month, on Sundays and Mondays
Trip Details:
- On Sunday, drive to various shelters in NC and stay overnight (lodging provided).
- On Monday, load the animals and drive them to VA (or nearby) to meet another transport driver.
- After the handoff, return to NC—or, depending on distance, rest overnight and head back the next day.
Commitment: 2 days per trip for most transports (there may be a few that would require a second overnight). Whether you can help twice a month or occasionally, you’ll join a team of transport drivers who sign up based on availability.
What We Provide:
- All meals and lodging costs covered.
- A chance to save lives with every trip.
Requirements:
- Must be 21 years or older
- Must complete our driver approval process
Join us and make a real difference for pets in need—one transport at a time.
