    Description

Are You a Mental Health Care Professional? Volunteer with the Red Cross! (Clark County)

The Red Cross is currently seeking licensed mental health professionals in SW Washington who woiuld be interested in volunteering as Disaster Mental Health Services (DMH) volunteers to support individuals and families displaced by local disasters.

DMH volunteers provide service virtually after a Disaster Action Team call. They can additonally serve at Emergency Shelters during lcoal (or if interested, national) disasters.

DMH volunteers listen to and talk with disaster-impacted clients about their experiences, stress levels, and coping skills. They assess the reactions, risk factors, and resilience factors of disaster-impacted clients. They provide Psychological First Aid and psychoeducation as appropriate. THey also provide targeted interventions as needed, including crisis intervention and community referrals.
