Hospice care serves the needs of terminally ill patients and their families and/or caregivers using a team-oriented approach focused on caring. Hospice helps maintain levels of comfort and quality of life for patients and their loved ones.
Hospice Volunteers make a difference by providing :
- Patient companionship: Listening, reassuring, sitting quietly, reading, enjoying music, playing games, watching TV
- Caregiver relief
- Assistance with errands and other support
- Bereavement follow-up (calls, mailings)
- Hospice office project support
