    Description

Coding and 3D Printing Volunteers Needed – Saturday Innovation Lab

    Location: Milford, Massachusetts

    Schedule: Saturdays, 9:00 AM–12:00 PM

Program: Children Across America Saturday STREAM & Innovation Lab

Age Group Served: Children ages 4–11

Children Across America is looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help young children explore coding, technology, and 3D printing in our Saturday STREAM & Innovation Lab in Milford, MA.

Our programs are provided free of charge to children and families, and our goal is to give kids hands-on access to technology they may not otherwise have the opportunity to experience.

We are seeking volunteers who can help children ages 4–11 learn basic coding concepts and discover how ideas can be turned into real objects using 3D printers.

    What Volunteers Will Do

    • Work with children individually and in small groups
    • Help teach age-appropriate coding activities
    • Assist children with beginner programming and problem-solving
    • Help children explore 3D design and 3D printing
    • Assist with preparing simple designs for printing
    • Help operate and monitor 3D printers
    • Encourage creativity, experimentation, and teamwork
    • Help children understand how technology can be used to create
    • Assist with setup, organization, and cleanup of the Innovation Lab

    Experience We’re Looking For

You do not need to be a professional teacher.

We welcome volunteers with experience or interest in:

    • Coding or computer programming
    • Scratch or other beginner coding platforms
    • Computer science
    • 3D modeling or CAD
    • 3D printing
    • Engineering
    • Robotics
    • Technology education
    • STEM/STEAM activities

College students studying computer science, engineering, education, technology, or related fields are strongly encouraged to apply. Technology professionals, educators, retirees, makers, hobbyists, and community members are also welcome.

Training and guidance will be provided for our specific equipment and activities.

    Schedule

Saturdays from 9:00 AM–12:00 PM in Milford, MA

Children attend approximately 9:30 AM–11:30 AM. Volunteers assist with preparation before the program and cleanup afterward.

We especially value volunteers who can make an ongoing commitment so children have the opportunity to build relationships with consistent mentors.

    Why Volunteer With Us?

Many young children are fascinated by technology but do not have regular access to equipment, instruction, or mentors who can help them explore it.

At Children Across America, volunteers help turn that curiosity into real skills.

One Saturday a child might write their first line of code. Another might design something on a computer and then watch it appear layer by layer on a 3D printer.

Those moments can change how a child sees their future.

    About Children Across America

All of our children's programs are offered free of charge.

A child who reads becomes an adult who thinks.

Come share your skills, curiosity, and enthusiasm with the next generation of creators.
