    Description

Switchpoint Homeless Overflow Shelter — Serve Meals, Support Guests, ect – West Valley City

    About the event

A Place of Shelter, Hope, and Human Connection

What began in 2020 as a seasonal winter refuge has grown into something much more. The Switchpoint Overflow Shelter now provides safe, respectful, year-round housing for individuals working toward self-sufficiency and permanent homes.

Every act of service helps restore hope and dignity. Join us at the Overflow Shelter and help turn compassion into action—one volunteer shift at a time.

    What will volunteers do?

    • Organization of the warehouse / donations
    • Help with the blankets and towels here at overflow
    • Serving meals to our guests during mealtimes
    • Interactions with guests in our community area / smoking area where we have games or cornhole (I know that solid connection with our guests is a huge uplifting experience for them)

What will volunteers need to bring or wear?

Casual clothing is perfect for this volunteer opportunity. Please avoid open-toed shoes and dress modestly, as you may be working in areas where your clothing could get a little dirty. Comfort and safety come first!
