We are currently seeking 20-30 volunteers to assist with ASO concerts in our 2025–2026 season.
As a volunteer with the Austin Symphony, your responsibilities may include:
Will Call – Distributing printed tickets to patrons at the Box Office.
Student Rush Sales – Selling $10 pre-printed Student Rush tickets
Mobile Ticket Support & Patron Greeting – Assisting guests with our mobile ticketing system and welcoming them as they arrive. Must be comfortable standing outdoors in varying weather and working with new technology.
Virtual Reality Experience/ Lobby Setup – Assisting with ASO's exciting new VR Experience, The Maestro—an immersive game on the Meta Quest 3 that allows users to conduct a full orchestra using cutting-edge hand-tracking technology and real conducting techniques. Volunteers will play a key role in ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience for patrons by helping set up the VR equipment, guiding users on how to get started, assisting with troubleshooting during the session, and packing up the gear afterward. No prior VR experience is required—volunteers will receive a 30-minute training session covering equipment handling, user interaction, and proper care and packing procedures. This is a unique opportunity to support the arts while engaging with an innovative and interactive musical experience.
Before each event, you’ll receive a detailed email with your shift time, location, and parking information. No experience is necessary. We’ll ensure you have all the training and guidance you need on-site. Plus, as a thank-you for your service, you’ll receive up to two complimentary tickets to enjoy the performance on the evening of your volunteer shift as well as the benefit of free parking.
