    IMANI HOUSE (IHI) is an award winning, tax-exempt non-profit that provides youth and family support and service programs in Brooklyn, NY and Liberia W. Africa. Founded in 1985, IHI is known for its free innovative after-school, adult education, immigrant services, health initiatives and for sharing information and referrals to those who require assistance.

    NY Programs include: Elementary After-School Performing Arts Program, Adult Education - Literacy, English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), Pre-GED and GED, Information and Referral Services, and the Women of Color Writers' Workshop. NY Services are provided to over 4,000 people each year

    Liberia W. Africa Programs Include: The Imani House Maternal and Child Health Care Clinic provides a full line of health services to over 18,000 women and children each week. In addition, IHI created a public health Manual and program after the 13 year Civil War, and the recent Ebola crisis, that provides community workshops in Health, Nutrition, Sanitation and Human Rights. The IHI Adult Literacy and Vocational Skills Training, serves over 150 women each year.

    IMANI HOUSE is a 501(C)(3) Nonprofit registered in NY and Liberia.

    Our Mission: To work with marginalized women, youth and families to alleviate poverty by providing programs and services that help communities build viable neighborhoods where residents take responsibility for their lives and surroundings
