    • Provide litigation support and specialized expertise to other OAG bureaus.

    Duties:

    • Handle all aspects of judgment enforcement efforts, including investigations into the existence and collectability of assets; post-judgment discovery, including depositions of judgment debtors or third parties; and proceedings to turn over assets, void fraudulent transfers, and to obtain recoverable assets from judgment debtors or third parties.
    • Negotiate resolution of litigation through settlements or workout agreements.
    • Provide advice to OAG staff and/or client agencies regarding judgment enforcement issues and advisability of collection efforts.
    • Assist in development of training material on issues relating to judgment enforcement.

    Qualifications:

    • At least five (5) years of legal experience.
    • Experience and expertise in judgment enforcement, debtor/creditor law, and related litigation.
    • Demonstrated ability to manage a large, complex caseload effectively.
    • Excellent legal analysis, research, and writing skills.
    • Strong organizational, interpersonal communication, problem solving, and teamwork skills.
    • Comfort with and proficiency using technology to complete legal work, including knowledge of and experience with various computer, case management, and electronic discovery platforms.
    • Admission to the state bars of Connecticut, New Jersey, and/or Delaware is desirable, but not required.

Applicants must reside in (or intend to soon become a resident of) New York state and be admitted to practice law in New York state.
