  • Mission

    Coal Oil Point Reserve is part of a larger system of Natural Reserves, operated by the University of California.

    The mission of the Natural Reserve System is to contribute to the understanding and wise management of the Earth and its natural systems by supporting university-level teaching, research and public service at protected natural areas throughout California.

    About Us

    One of the major projects at Coal Oil Point Reserve is the conservation of the Threatened shorebird species: The Western Snowy Plover.
