The Choice, Inc. is seeking an experienced Fundraising Database & Operations Director to provide immediate temporary coverage for a nonprofit organization focused on raising money to find a cure for an autoimmune disease in Washington, DC. For the right candidate, there is potential for this position to transition into a permanent role.

This is an immediate contract opportunity supporting a collaborative development and fundraising team during a particularly active time of year. The position will serve as a key resource for the organization’s fundraising databases and systems, with responsibility for database management, reporting, gift processing operations, troubleshooting, and cross-functional support.

We are particularly interested in candidates with strong, hands-on experience with Raiser’s Edge, Omatic/ImportOmatic, and Luminate Online/TeamRaiser who can quickly step into an established fundraising operation.

The organization has extensive documentation and established processes in place; however, this role requires someone who already has significant familiarity with nonprofit fundraising systems and can independently troubleshoot issues, support users, and learn organization-specific business rules quickly.

    • Significant experience with Raiser’s Edge/Blackbaud, ideally including Raiser’s Edge Database View
    • Hands-on experience with Omatic/ImportOmatic
    • Experience with Luminate Online and/or TeamRaiser
    • Previous experience supporting fundraising or development operations within a nonprofit organization
    • Strong understanding of donor data, gift processing, reporting, reconciliation, and database best practices
    • Ability to troubleshoot database and fundraising technology issues independently
    • Strong communication and collaboration skills
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond to requests from stakeholders across an organization
    • Previous supervisory or team leadership experience is helpful

    Key responsibilities will include:

    • Serve as a primary resource for Raiser’s Edge and related fundraising systems
    • Support database maintenance, data integrity, imports, coding, and troubleshooting
    • Manage and troubleshoot Omatic/ImportOmatic processes, profiles, and dictionaries
    • Support Luminate Online/TeamRaiser, including event and fundraising pages
    • Develop reports, queries, lists, and other fundraising data outputs
    • Partner with Finance on gift reconciliation, pledge entry, and related processes
    • Support gift processing and provide guidance to Advancement Services staff
    • Assist Development staff with direct mail, major gifts, peer-to-peer fundraising, and other fundraising initiatives
    • Troubleshoot database and system issues and work with internal and external partners as needed
    • Collaborate across Development, Finance, and other departments to respond to data and systems needs
    • Provide guidance and support to staff on database processes and best practices
