Description
Membership Coordinator (4 month Temporary)
A national trade association is seeking a detail-oriented Membership Coordinator to provide temporary leave coverage and day-to-day administrative support to its Membership team. This role helps ensure continuity of member services, data management, scheduling, reporting, and event support. This person will have the opportunity to travel with the team to New York for their annual meeting in mid-January.
Position Details
- Start: Mid-to-late October 2026
- Duration: Through February 2027
- Compensation: $30/hour
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m., with a one-hour unpaid lunch break
- Work arrangement: Hybrid (2 days remote/3 days in Office)
- Location: Washington, DC, conveniently located near Metro Center
Qualifications
- 2+ years of administrative, customer service, membership, association, or comparable experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Experience with a Salesforce is plus or any CRM, AMS, membership database, or similar system
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Sound judgment when handling confidential information
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hybrid environment
- Trade association and/or event or conference experience preferred
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate member and prospect records in the CRM/membership database
- Monitor shared inboxes and respond to routine member questions, escalating complex matters as needed
- Schedule meetings, coordinate calendars, prepare materials, and track follow-up
- Create and maintain spreadsheets, reports, presentations, correspondence, and templates
- Assist with membership reporting, list preparation, and data quality checks
- Support conferences, webinars, events, and committee meetings, including registration, communications, materials, and post-event administration
- Organize shared files and maintain administrative records
- Provide general administrative and project support to the Membership team
