Description
The Choice is seeking/employing an immediate HR Benefits Associate for our client, a major trade association located in Tyson's Corner.
This is a temporary need to provide coverage for a full-time staff member on leave.
Timeline: Approximately 8 weeks
Schedule: Monday-Thursday in office, Fridays work from home.
This role focuses on managing employee benefits programs and ensuring compliance, while serving as a key point of contact for current and former staff, including retirees. It involves overseeing HR systems and records, coordinating with benefit vendors, handling related transactions and reporting, and providing personalized support to team members.
Qualifications:
- Previous benefits administration experience highly preferred, but open to someone with other HR experience who can learn and train quickly.
- Previous ADP experience a very large plus!

Job Duties:
- Administer and manage employee benefit programs, including health, disability, life/AD&D, retiree medical, and supplemental offerings
- Support retirement plans (401(k), deferred compensation), including employee education and inquiry resolution
- Oversee benefits enrollment processes: open enrollment, new hires, and qualifying life events; determine eligibility and communicate coverage details
- Manage employee leave programs (FMLA, disability, parental, workers’ compensation), ensuring compliance and coordination across stakeholders
- Serve as primary point of contact for employee and supervisor benefits-related questions, providing guidance and program interpretation
- Maintain and optimize HRIS systems, including employee records, reporting, and system enhancements
- Coordinate with benefit vendors, carriers, and third-party administrators (COBRA, FSA), ensuring accurate data exchange and service delivery
- Process and audit benefit invoices, partnering with Accounting to ensure accuracy and confidentiality
- Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations; manage required reporting, including healthcare reporting
- Support benefits audits, vendor management, and overall program strategy in collaboration with HR leadership and brokers
- Assist with onboarding and offboarding processes, including benefits orientation and exit support
- Contribute to HR initiatives, employee engagement efforts, and total rewards programs
- Support updates to HR policies, Employee Handbook, and internal communications, including intranet content
- Participate in internal committees and support related planning and budget activities
