    Description

    Position Summary

    Abortion Positivity Project is seeking a passionate, organized, and politically engaged Policy and Development Intern to support our advocacy and fundraising efforts. This internship offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in nonprofit development, legislative research, grant writing, and reproductive justice advocacy. The intern will contribute to expanding abortion access by supporting Abortion Positive policy initiatives, strengthening donor engagement, and helping secure resources that advance our mission.

    This is an excellent opportunity for a current college student interested in public policy, nonprofit development, advocacy, fundraising, or reproductive justice.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Research and summarize legislation, policy trends, and legal developments impacting abortion access.
    • Draft policy memos, briefs, talking points, and advocacy materials for internal and external audiences.
    • Support advocacy campaigns.
    • Conduct donor and foundation research to identify prospective funding opportunities.
    • Assist with grant research, writing, and application preparation.
    • Draft and edit donor communications, including thank-you emails, fundraising appeals, newsletters, and other stewardship materials.
    • Support the planning and implementation of fundraising campaigns and donor engagement initiatives.
    • Maintain donor records and assist with database and CRM management.

    Qualifications

    • Must be a current college student.
    • Passion for abortion.
    • Strong interest in public policy, politics, nonprofit development, and advocacy.
    • Excellent research, analytical, writing, and editing skills.
    • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects independently.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative attitude.

    Compensation & Expectations

    • Internship runs from September through December.
    • Interns are expected to work 10–15 hours per week.
    • College credit or a small stipend is available.

    Final Presentation

    At the conclusion of the internship, interns will deliver a 10-minute presentation highlighting their work, key learnings, and contributions to advancing abortion-positive policy, advocacy, fundraising, and organizational growth.
