    Position Summary

    The Abortion Positivity Project works to destigmatize abortion and shift the national abortion narrative away from one controlled by anti-abortion extremists. We do this by partnering with nonprofit organizations, cultural leaders, media professionals, influencers, podcasters, brands and other creators with dedicated audiences to bring our message of active and intentional abortion destigmatization to their audience in their format and style. We are seeking 4 thoughtful, organized, and proactive interns to support our Partnerships & Outreach efforts to shift how abortion is discussed and shape public conversation.

    Interns will play a key role in identifying, researching, and building partnerships, designing events or content ideas, and participating in meetings.

    Each intern will specialize in one focus area: Cultural Partnerships, Social Media & Influencer Outreach, Podcasts & PR, or Non-Profit Partnerships. They will also participate in weekly Professional Development seminars featuring trainings and special guests and collaborate as part of a team to strengthen outreach strategy and execution across the organization.

    Core Responsibilities (All Interns)

    • Conduct research to identify values-aligned partners within your specialization.
    • Build and maintain organized systems to track outreach targets, communications, and engagement
    • Draft, edit, and personalize outreach messages, media kits, and collaboration proposals
    • Track outreach efforts, follow-ups, and responses in a clear and consistent way
    • Collaborate with team members to align outreach with current campaigns and messaging goals
    • Participate in outreach strategy meetings and contribute ideas to strengthen partnerships
    • Ensure all communications reflect the organization’s voice and commitment to Abortion Positive language

    Specialization Areas

    Cultural Partnerships Intern

    • Identify and engage brands, conferences and event series for potential partnership.
    • Support the development of creative collaborations that center Abortion Positivity.
    • Research cultural trends and opportunities for integrating Abortion Positivity into broader cultural spaces

    Social Media & Influencer Outreach Intern

    • Research and connect with TikTokers, Instagram creators, influencers, and digital advocates
    • Support influencer outreach strategies and relationship-building efforts
    • Track trends in social media and influencer marketing to inform outreach and campaigns

    Podcasts & PR Intern

    • Research and connect with podcasts for guest opportunities and collaborations
    • Support pitching efforts, including drafting tailored outreach and media materials
    • Track trends in podcasting and media to expand abortion-positive storytelling opportunities

    Non-Profit Partnerships Intern

    • Identify and engage mission-aligned organizations, institutions, and community groups
    • Support outreach to schedule Abortion Positivity trainings, workshops, and events
    • Assist with scheduling, logistics, and coordination for partnership meetings and programming

    Qualifications

    • Passion for Abortion Positivity and reproductive justice
    • Strong research, writing, and communication skills
    • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
    • Comfortable initiating outreach and building new relationships
    • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
    • Interest in at least one specialization area (culture, social media, podcasts, or nonprofit partnerships)
    • Open and confident discussing abortion using Abortion Positive language
    • Must be a current college student

    Compensation & Expectations

    • Internship runs fromJune through August
    • 10–15 hours per week commitment
    • Weekly professional development trainings across nonprofit fields
    • College credit or a small stipend available

    Final Presentation

    • At the conclusion of the internship, interns will deliver a 10-minute presentation highlighting their work, key learnings, and contributions to advancing abortion-positive partnerships and outreach.
