History, Tourism & Cultural Activities Internship
We are offering an exciting opportunity to join our team as an intern within a network of partners operating in the tourism, cultural heritage, and visitor experience sectors in Agrigento, Sicily.
This internship is ideal for students or graduates interested in tourism, cultural activities, communication, and visitor services. Based on your profile, skills, and interests, you will be assigned to a specific placement.
Internship Tracks
- Cultural Sites & Visitor Experience
This track is suited for candidates interested in cultural heritage, museums, events, and direct interaction with visitors.
Main Tasks:
- Assist in welcoming and supporting visitors at cultural and tourism sites
- Provide information about exhibitions, locations, and ongoing activities
- Support educational activities, workshops, and group experiences (especially with school groups)
- Assist or lead guided visits
- Help coordinate visitor flow and group logistics
- Support the organization and management of cultural events (e.g. music, astronomy, seasonal events)
- Assist with front office activities and general visitor services
- Contribute to the promotion of cultural activities and thematic experiences
- Support daily operations of cultural spaces and tourism-related locations
Ideal Profile:
- Studies in Tourism, Cultural Heritage, History, Archaeology, Communication, or related fields
- Strong interest in culture, history, and working with the public
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Comfortable speaking in front of small groups
- Flexible and adaptable to dynamic environments
- Knowledge of additional languages is a plus
- Tourism Services & Travel Agency Support
This track is suited for candidates interested in tourism operations, customer service, and travel planning, with less emphasis on cultural guiding.
Main Tasks:
- Assist in front office activities and customer reception
- Support travel planning and booking processes
- Help organize itineraries, tours, and tourism services
- Provide information and assistance to clients regarding travel options and local experiences
- Assist with administrative tasks and documentation
- Support coordination of tourism services and client requests
- Contribute to communication and promotional activities
- Assist with daily operations of the agency
Ideal Profile:
- Studies in Tourism, Business Administration, Marketing, Communication, or related fields
- Interest in tourism services, travel planning, and customer relations
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Comfortable working in a structured, service-oriented environment
- Interest in administrative tasks and coordination
- Basic digital skills; interest in marketing or communication is a plus

Internship requirements:
- You must be eligible for the Erasmus+ program
- You are able to join us in Agrigento for at least 4 months
- You have at least a B1 level in English. Knowledge of other languages is appreciated.
