    Description

    Assessment & Tool Strategy

    • Audit C4TH's current AI tool usage across the team and document findings in a structured gap analysis within the first 30 days
    • Research and evaluate AI tools appropriate for nonprofit operations — presenting a prioritized recommendation with clear rationale
    • Identify at least 3–5 high-value use cases where AI can reduce manual work or improve consistency for the team

    Building & Configuration

    • Build and configure a minimum of 3 AI-powered workflows during the internship term — covering donor communication drafting, content generation support, and internal operations
    • Test all workflows before team use, documenting edge cases, failure points, and output quality benchmarks
    • Collaborate with the Integrations Intern to connect at least one AI workflow into the broader platform ecosystem (Salesforce, Brevo, Givebutter, or Zapier/Make)

    Prompt Engineering

    • Develop and maintain a prompt library of no fewer than 5 tested, documented prompts across C4TH's core communication needs
    • Iterate on prompts based on output quality, brand alignment, and team feedback — with versioning tracked
    • Ensure all prompts reflect C4TH's approved language standards, including how we talk about grief, end of life, dementia, and the communities we serve

    Documentation & Handoff

    • Document every AI system built to handoff standard meaning any team member can understand, use, update, or troubleshoot it without the intern present
    • Deliver a final AI systems map and recommendations memo at the close of the internship term

    Responsible AI Stewardship

    • Draft C4TH's internal AI usage guidelines by Day 60 — covering approved use cases, review requirements, prohibited uses, and decision authority
    • Flag any AI output that produces unexpected, off-brand, or potentially harmful results — immediately and in writing

    Required:

    • Hands-on experience building or configuring AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Notion AI, or similar)
    • Strong prompt engineering instincts, you treat this as a craft, not a shortcut
    • Systematic thinker who considers failure, edge cases, and downstream effects
    • Excellent documentation habits — you write it as you build, not after
    • Comfortable working remotely and asynchronously with clear, proactive communication

    Preferred:

    • Experience with automation platforms like Zapier or Make
    • Background in nonprofit operations or mission-driven work
    • A genuine, practiced commitment to responsible AI use — not as a buzzword, but as something that shapes how you actually work

    Instructions:

To apply, please submit your resume and a brief response (no more than one page) addressing the following: Describe an AI tool or workflow you've built or configured — what was the goal, what did you build, and what would you do differently if you rebuilt it today. If you have a prompt library, documentation sample, or any work product you're proud of, we'd love to see it. Links or attachments welcome.
