Communication Internship

We are NEXO Sicilia, a young, newly-founded social enterprise located in Agrigento, Sicily. We are looking for interns to join our multicultural and dynamic communication department and contribute to projects supporting both NEXO Sicilia and our network of partners.

Through our work in international mobility, social impact initiatives, and community-based projects, we aim to create meaningful social, cultural, and professional opportunities for young people across Europe while promoting a more innovative and opportunity-oriented vision of Sicily.

Our communication department brings together interns from different creative and digital backgrounds, working collaboratively on visual communication, storytelling, social media, digital growth, web development, and content creation projects connected to NEXO Sicilia’s mission and activities.

What we’re looking for

The roles

1. Videography intern

• Create video content showcasing international mobility experiences, social impact initiatives, cultural activities, and community-based projects
• Develop visual concepts, storyboards, and storytelling formats that communicate the mission, values, and identity of NEXO Sicilia and its partners
• Plan, film, and edit content for social media, websites, campaigns, and digital communication projects
• Adapt video formats and visual narratives for platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and other digital channels
• Apply filming, lighting, editing, pacing, and sound techniques to create emotionally engaging and visually compelling content
• Collaborate with the communication team to ensure consistency in tone, message, and visual identity across projects
• Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute creative ideas for campaigns, interviews, storytelling initiatives, and digital communication strategies
• Support the creation of reusable video formats, templates, and multimedia resources for future communication projects
• Stay updated on trends in videography, digital storytelling, and social media communication
• Participate in a creative, multicultural, and collaborative environment focused on communication, innovation, and social impact

Apply if this is you:

• You are currently studying or have a background in Videography, Film Production, Multimedia, Communication, Digital Media, Visual Arts, Photography, Marketing, or related fields
• You are passionate about storytelling, visual communication, and transforming ideas, experiences, and social impact initiatives into engaging digital content and visual narratives
• You are interested in videography, social media content creation, and creative communication strategies across different digital platforms
• You are creative, adaptable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working on collaborative projects in dynamic and multicultural environments
• You are familiar with video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, CapCut, or similar tools
• You have a good command of English (minimum B1 level)
• A portfolio showcasing video, photography, or multimedia projects is highly appreciated

1. Graphic design intern

• Create visually engaging content for social media, websites, presentations, campaigns, and digital communication materials
• Contribute to the development of visual identities and branding materials for NEXO Sicilia and partner organizations
• Support communication campaigns and digital storytelling projects connected to international mobility, social impact initiatives, and community-based activities
• Collaborate with the communication team to design cohesive and impactful visuals aligned with brand identity and communication goals
• Use tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign to create digital and print-ready graphic materials
• Edit, optimize, and adapt visual content for different digital platforms, formats, and audiences
• Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute creative ideas for communication, branding, and social media projects
• Support the creation of visually consistent content across websites, presentations, promotional materials, and online platforms
• Stay updated on trends in graphic design, branding, visual communication, and digital media
• Participate in a creative, multicultural, and collaborative environment focused on communication, innovation, and social impact

• You are currently studying or have a background in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Multimedia Design, Fine Arts, Digital Communication, or related fields
• You are passionate about visual storytelling, branding, and creating engaging digital experiences
• You enjoy combining creativity with communication and contributing to meaningful digital and social impact projects
• You are familiar with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign); knowledge of Figma, Adobe XD, or similar tools is appreciated
• You have a strong understanding of typography, color theory, layout, and visual consistency
• You are creative, detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable working on multiple projects in collaborative environments
• You have a good command of English (minimum B1 level)
• A portfolio showcasing visual, branding, or digital design projects is highly appreciated

1. Social media management intern

• Create engaging content for social media platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, and other digital channels
• Support digital storytelling initiatives highlighting international mobility experiences, social impact projects, cultural activities, and community-based initiatives
• Contribute to the development of communication strategies aligned with NEXO Sicilia’s identity, values, and communication goals
• Collaborate with the communication team to create cohesive campaigns, visual content, and online communication materials
• Adapt content formats, tone, and communication styles for different platforms, audiences, and digital trends
• Monitor community interactions and contribute to building engaging and positive online communities
• Analyze social media performance and audience engagement to support visibility and digital growth strategies
• Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute creative ideas for campaigns, storytelling formats, and communication initiatives
• Stay updated on trends in social media, digital communication, and online content creation
• Participate in a creative, multicultural, and collaborative environment focused on communication, innovation, and social impact

• You are passionate about digital communication, storytelling, and creating engaging online content and communities
• You are interested in social media strategy, content creation, branding, and communication for social impact initiatives
• You are creative, adaptable, proactive, and comfortable working on collaborative projects in dynamic and multicultural environments
• You are familiar with platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, Canva, or basic content editing tools
• You have a good command of English (minimum B1 level)
• Experience managing social media accounts or creating digital content is appreciated

1. Content development intern

• Conduct research and analysis on social, political, and community-related topics connected to the third sector and NEXO Sicilia’s initiatives
• Produce written content, articles, and communication materials related to topics such as migration, social inclusion, gentrification, brain drain, youth mobility, and local development
• Contribute to digital storytelling and communication projects aimed at making complex social issues accessible and engaging for different audiences
• Collaborate with the communication team to develop content strategies, key messaging, and communication campaigns
• Create content for social media platforms, presentations, reports, brochures, and digital communication materials
• Support the development and organization of research-based databases, resources, and informational content
• Produce well-researched, fact-checked, and properly sourced content connected to Sicily’s social context and broader societal issues
• Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute ideas for communication initiatives, awareness campaigns, and social impact storytelling projects
• Stay updated on current social, political, and cultural discussions relevant to the organization’s mission and activities
• Participate in a multicultural and collaborative environment focused on communication, critical thinking, and social impact

• You are currently studying or have a background in Sociology, Political Science, Journalism, Communication, International Relations, Humanities, Social Sciences, Migration Studies, Human Rights Studies, or related fields
• You are interested in social and political issues, social impact initiatives, and communicating meaningful topics through research and storytelling
• You enjoy writing, researching, analyzing information, and transforming complex ideas into accessible and engaging content
• You are curious, open-minded, critical-thinking, and motivated to contribute to projects connected to social change and community development
• You are organized, adaptable, and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in multicultural environments
• You have a good command of English (minimum B2 level)
• Experience with content writing, journalism, communication projects, NGOs, volunteering, or social initiatives is appreciated

1. Digital marketing intern

• Support the development and implementation of digital communication and online growth strategies for NEXO Sicilia and its partner organizations
• Contribute to digital campaigns promoting international mobility, social impact initiatives, cultural activities, and community-based projects
• Create and manage content for websites, newsletters, social media platforms, and digital communication materials
• Assist in improving online visibility through SEO, content optimization, keyword research, and audience growth strategies
• Monitor and analyze website traffic, campaign performance, audience engagement, and digital communication metrics using analytics and reporting tools
• Collaborate with the communication and design teams to create cohesive campaigns, branded visuals, and engaging digital content
• Support email marketing initiatives and online community engagement activities
• Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute creative and analytical ideas for campaigns, growth strategies, and digital communication projects
• Stay updated on trends in digital marketing, online communication, social media, and audience engagement strategies
• Participate in a dynamic, multicultural, and collaborative environment focused on communication, innovation, and social impact

• You are familiar with social media platforms, digital marketing tools, analytics platforms, or content management systems such as WordPress
• You are organized, proactive, adaptable, and comfortable working on collaborative projects in dynamic and multicultural environments
• You have a good command of English (minimum B2 level)
• Experience with digital campaigns, SEO, analytics, social media management, or content creation is appreciated

1. Web design and web development intern

• Develop and maintain showcase websites using WordPress
• Support the creation of simple e-commerce websites using WordPress or Shopify
• Implement website layouts, pages, and visual content based on materials provided by graphic designers
• Collaborate with graphic designers and project managers to ensure visual consistency and brand identity across projects
• Upload, organize, and manage website content, images, and multimedia materials
• Customize themes, templates, and page layouts according to project needs
• Ensure websites are responsive, accessible, and user-friendly across desktop and mobile devices
• Support website maintenance, updates, and content revisions
• Contribute to digital projects developed for NEXO Sicilia and its partner organizations
• Participate in a creative and collaborative environment focused on communication, visibility, and digital growth

Apply if this is you:

• You are currently studying or have a background in Web Design, Digital Communication, Graphic Design, Multimedia, Marketing, Computer Science, Web Development, or related fields
• You are passionate about creating intuitive, visually engaging, and user-friendly digital experiences
• You enjoy combining creativity with organization and collaborating with designers and project managers on real-world digital projects
• You are familiar with WordPress and have basic knowledge of HTML and CSS; familiarity with Shopify is appreciated
• You have a strong eye for layout, aesthetics, visual consistency, and responsive design principles
• You are creative, detail-oriented, proactive, and motivated to contribute to meaningful digital projects while developing your professional skills
• A portfolio showcasing websites, visual projects, or digital content is highly appreciated
• You have a good command of English or Italian (minimum B2 level)

To ensure a smooth and successful internship, all our interns have access to the following resources:

• Shared accommodation in fully furnished apartments (utilities included)
• Italian language classes (beginner and intermediate levels)
• Administrative support throughout the internship
• Participation in cultural activities and events

Our Requirements:

• You are eligible for the Erasmus+ program or a similar international mobility program, which typically provide you with financial support
• You are available to spend at least 4 months in Agrigento
• You have access to a personal computer suitable for completing the tasks associated with the internship
• While not required, interns are welcome to bring their own photography, videography, or content creation equipment
