European Projects & International Cooperation Internship

If you are looking for an internship to gain experience in European cooperation and project development, while also generating significant, positive social impact on the local level, then we might be the right fit for you!

We are NEXO Sicilia, a young, newly-founded social enterprise based in Agrigento, Sicily. We are looking for interns to join our multicultural and dynamic team and help us develop and expand the international mobility initiatives we have been building for many years through our previous experience as a Social Promotion Association.

Today, we are creating new partnerships, projects, and opportunities aimed at offering meaningful educational, cultural, and professional experiences for young people across Europe, while contributing to a different narrative of Sicily: one centered on international exchange, innovation, community, and opportunity rather than limitation.

Your role

• Support the research, development, and implementation of European and international cooperation projects
• Conduct research on European policies, mobility programs, social enterprises, and funding opportunities
• Assist in writing project briefs, reports, proposals, and communication materials
• Participate in meetings with stakeholders, partner organizations, institutions, and project collaborators
• Support networking activities at local, national, and international levels
• Contribute to identifying funding opportunities and partnership possibilities connected to European programs and initiatives
• Assist in creating written and video content related to mobility, European policies, youth opportunities, and social impact topics
• Support communication and dissemination activities connected to European projects and advocacy initiatives
• Maintain and organize project documentation, databases, and partnership-related information
• Contribute to the growth and international development of NEXO Sicilia and its mobility initiatives

Apply if this is you:

• You are currently studying or have a background in International Relations, Political Science, European Studies, Communication, Development Studies, Social Sciences, Law, Humanities, or related fields
• You are interested in European projects, international cooperation, mobility programs, social enterprises, and community-based initiatives
• You enjoy research, communication, networking, and working in multicultural and international environments
• You are curious, proactive, and motivated to contribute to projects creating meaningful educational, cultural, and professional opportunities for young people
• You are interested in helping promote a more dynamic, international, and opportunity-oriented vision of Sicily through social impact initiatives
• You are organized, adaptable, and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in project-based environments
• You have a good command of English (minimum B2 level)

Our Community Resources

To ensure a smooth and successful internship, all our interns have access to the following resources:

• Shared accommodation in fully furnished apartments (utilities included)
• Italian language classes (beginner and intermediate levels)
• Administrative support throughout the internship
• Participation in cultural activities and events

Our Requirements:

• You are eligible for the Erasmus+ program or a similar international mobility program, which typically provide you with financial support
• You are available to spend at least 4 months in Agrigento
• You have access to a personal computer suitable for completing the tasks associated with the internship
