    General Job Description

    The Technology Coordinator Intern provides hands-on support for staff systems, hardware, software, and basic data tools, with a focus on reliable execution and skill development. This four-month internship is designed as a pipeline to a long-term technology role, with planned transition to part-time and potential full-time employment within a year based on performance and organizational needs.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    End-User Technology Support

    • Provide first-level support for staff technology issues.
    • Assist with setup, configuration, and troubleshooting of laptops, phones, and peripherals.
    • Support Google Workspace, Slack, Dropbox, VPN access, and password tools.
    • Document issues, resolutions, and standard procedures.

    Hardware & Inventory

    • Track and maintain inventory of staff and program equipment.
    • Assist with device procurement, deployment, and returns.
    • Prepare equipment for staff, federations, and partners.
    • Maintain accurate inventory records.

    Systems & Operations Support

    • Assist with basic system administration under supervision.
    • Support data hygiene tasks in platforms such as Salesforce and form tools.
    • Maintain documentation for access, permissions, and workflows.
    • Assist with vendor coordination and ticket follow-up.

    Network & Federation Support

    • Support technology assistance efforts for federations and partners.
    • Prepare equipment shipments and related documentation.
    • Assist with training logistics and resource preparation.

    Security & Preparedness

    • Follow organizational cybersecurity practices.
    • Assist with onboarding and offboarding checklists.
    • Support basic access and device compliance reviews.

    Projects & Learning

    • Support short-term technology projects as assigned.
    • Participate in internal training on systems, security, and data.
    • Build foundational skills in nonprofit and civic engagement technology.

    EDUCATION & TRAINING

    Required Skills & Qualifications

    • Current enrollment in or recent completion of coursework in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or 1 year of equivalent hands-on experience)
    • Basic familiarity and understanding of Windows and macOS.
    • Basic understanding of end-user technology support concepts (troubleshooting, setup, user assistance)
    • Familiarity with Google Workspace (Gmail, Drive, Docs, Calendar); exposure to Slack and file-sharing tools a plus
    • Comfort supporting or learning common workplace tools such as VPNs, password managers, and collaboration platforms
    • Ability to follow documented processes for device setup, access requests, and inventory tracking.
    • Basic understanding of hardware (laptops, phones, peripherals) and willingness to learn device configuration and maintenance.
    • Strong attention to detail and ability to document issues, resolutions, and procedures clearly.
    • Clear, professional communication skills when assisting staff, federations, or partners.
    • Ability to explain technical concepts in a patient, accessible, and service-oriented manner.
    • Strong organization and follow-through.
    • Strong organizational skills and consistent follow-through, with the ability to manage multiple tasks, track details accurately, and meet deadlines.
    • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion, sound judgment, and respect for data privacy and security protocols.
    • Commitment and alignment with Faith in Action’s mission, values, and principles of equity, diversity, and inclusion.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Prior internship, campus tech support role, volunteer experience, or customer support experience preferred but not required.
    • Coursework or experience in IT, information systems, or related fields.
    • Exposure to Salesforce or databases.
    • Experience providing peer technology support.
    • Interest in nonprofit or civic engagement work.
