    Description

    Founded in 1988, Food & Friends provides medically-tailored meals, nutrition support, and friendship to people living with AIDS, cancer, and other life-challenging illnesses. Our team of seventy employees and thousands of volunteers delivers meals and hope to people living in the District of Columbia and multiple counties across Maryland and Virginia. There is no charge or income qualification for our services, which are rendered solely on the basis of medical need. Food & Friends is proud to be a nationally-recognized leader of the Food is Medicine movement.

    The Capital Campaign Manager will help implement and manage the planning and execution of fundraising activities for a $30 million campaign. Reporting to the Chief Development Officer, the Manager will:

      • Support overall campaign management, including prospect tracking, strategy support, task assignment, and timeline development/enforcement;
      • Research prospects, prepare profiles, create and disseminate donor lists, and help develop solicitation strategies;
      • Maintain master campaign calendar to monitor progress towards milestones and coordinate activity across the department;
      • Prepare talking points, proposals, presentations, and campaign meeting prep for Board members, campaign volunteers, and staff;
      • Design and manage campaign events (e.g. dinner or receptions for 60 people, small campaign events, groundbreaking ceremony, and end of campaign celebration);
      • Regularly input campaign data into Raiser’s Edge for tracking and reporting; and
      • Oversee donor acknowledgement and recognition process.

    The Capital Campaign Manager will not directly solicit donors, but will leverage their project management expertise, prospect research skills, and collaborative attributes to lead the campaign to a successful and timely conclusion.

    The successful candidate will have a BA/BS and minimum of 2 years of development experience with proven experience in prospect research and project management. Additional requirements include superb written and verbal communication skills, excellent time management skills, keen eye for detail, and ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders. Offer of employment contingent upon a pre-employment drug test. Must be willing to work on-site.
