    Our new Team Member will be an intellectually curious analytical thinker with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. This role involves providing administrative and general support for BPSI’s educational programs, lectures, seminars, and library. Our ideal person will be a self-starter and possess the highest ethical and professional standards, have a pleasant outgoing demeanor, and enjoy interacting with others in a fast-paced, dynamic, ever-changing nonprofit.

    About Us:

    Located in Newton Centre, the Boston Psychoanalytic Society & Institute (BPSI) is a leading educational institution and membership organization that provides post-graduate training psychoanalytic psychotherapy and psychoanalysis. We are a large complex volunteer membership organization. At its core, BPSI provides a home for education, development, and collegial intellectual exchange throughout the professional lives of psychoanalysts and psychoanalytic psychotherapists, dialogue with the arts and fosters psychoanalytic service to the community.

    Responsibilities:

    The Education Administrative Assistant provides front-line reception for all Visitors, Faculty, Students, Members, and guests.

    • Education support:
      • Provide core administrative support for BPSI’s education programs such as requesting, editing, formatting, and distribution of Class Syllabi, Seminar Evaluations, Class Attendance, and Continuing Education.
      • Providing basic technical support including password resets, program registration, internet access, and classroom A/V support.
      • Performing ad-hoc project work in collaboration with BPSI Team members.
    • Communications:
      • Preparation and distribution of memos and related material.
      • Participation in the maintenance of all databases and websites.
    • Events:
      • When evening hours are required, ensure the building is secure at the end of the evening, and assist with setup of food and/or refreshments for special class dinners and events as needed.
      • Collaborate with BPSI Team members to facilitate effective production of BPSI’s events, programs, and meetings.

    Qualifications/Requirements:

    • Outstanding customer service, interpersonal, communication and listening skills with capacity to pay close attention to detail.
    • A team player who takes initiative and has exceptional organization skills.
    • Proactive self-starter: ability to anticipate problems and creatively contribute solutions.
    • Flexibility and adaptability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, and ability to realign priorities as needed.
    • Experience with Windows 10/11 and Mac OS, Microsoft 365, and Zoom.
      • Knowledge of WordPress, Donor Perfect, Constant Contact, and GiveCloud are a plus but not required.
    • Proficiency in troubleshooting various computer issues on MAC and PC.
