    Description

    We are a small-but-impactful animal protection nonprofit dedicated to ending cruelty and promoting compassion for all species worldwide. Through media, investigations, advocacy, public education, and rescue grants, we work to expose abuse, advance policy change, and inspire individuals and institutions to protect animals while also enabling rescued animals to receive lifesaving care.

    This is a half-time (20 hours/week) position with the opportunity to expand to full time for the right candidate.

    Position Overview

    The Supporter Engagement & Partnerships Advisor plays a key development role by strengthening relationships with supporters and identifying strategic partnership opportunities that advance our mission. This position is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive strategy for donor stewardship, partnerships with corporations and foundations, legacy giving, and campaign communications/updates.

    The ideal candidate is a strong relationship builder and strategic communicator who is passionate about animal protection and experienced in nonprofit fundraising and partnerships. This position is best-suited for self-starters who work well independently in a remote environment, yet are also receptive to feedback and direction from leadership.

    Key Responsibilities

    Donor Stewardship & Engagement

    • Work with team on enhancing donor stewardship plan to deepen relationships with supporters and increase long-term retention.
    • Create compelling updates and communications that keep donors informed about campaigns, investigations, and impact.
    • Coordinate donor engagement initiatives including newsletters, special reports, webinars, and supporter briefings.
    • Ensure donors receive timely and meaningful recognition and appreciation.

    Corporate & Foundation Partnerships

    • Identify, cultivate, and manage partnerships with corporations and foundations aligned with the organization’s mission and values.
    • Develop proposals and partnership packages that create mutual value while advancing animal protection initiatives.
    • Collaborate with leadership to secure funding and strategic partnerships that support campaigns and programs.

    Legacy Giving Program

    • Design and launch a legacy giving program that encourages supporters to include the organization in their estate plans.
    • Develop materials and outreach strategies to promote planned giving opportunities.
    • Cultivate relationships with prospective legacy donors and steward existing commitments.

    Campaign Updates & Supporter Communications

    • Collaborate with campaign teams to translate advocacy work into engaging updates for supporters.
    • Develop regular campaign progress reports and impact stories to demonstrate how supporter contributions drive change.
    • Identify opportunities to engage supporters more deeply in ongoing initiatives.

    Strategy & Collaboration

    • Track engagement and fundraising metrics to evaluate effectiveness and improve strategies.
    • Work cross-functionally with campaign, communications, and leadership teams to align supporter engagement with organizational priorities.
    • Contribute to overall fundraising and growth strategies.

    Qualifications

    • 5+ years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, donor relations, partnerships, or development.
    • Demonstrated experience creating and implementing donor stewardship or engagement strategies.
    • Experience developing corporate or foundation partnerships.
    • Familiarity with legacy/planned giving programs is strongly preferred.
    • Excellent written communication and storytelling skills.
    • Strong relationship-building and interpersonal skills.
    • Highly organized and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Passion for animal protection and alignment with the organization’s mission.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience working in animal protection, environmental, or social justice nonprofits.
    • Experience working with high-net-worth donors.
