THE ROLE
CommunityCare of Lyme is seeking an experienced, collaborative leader to serve as its part-time
Executive Director at 20-24 hours per week. This is a hands-on role that sits at the center of CCL's work,
responsible for program oversight, staff support, fundraising, and ensuring the organization operates
effectively in service of its mission. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director serves as
the operational partner to the Board's strategic leadership, balancing day-to-day management with an
eye toward organizational growth and sustainability. The ideal candidate is organized and community-
minded, comfortable building relationships across a wide range of stakeholders, and brings enough
experience in nonprofit management to lead with confidence in a small-organization environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Program Oversight: Oversee the implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of CCL's core
programs; work with staff on planning, budgeting, and outcomes assessment; design new programs
as opportunities and community needs arise
Staff Leadership: Provide day-to-day oversight of the Program Director and Community
Connections Coordinator; maintain regular check-ins, and support a positive and collaborative team
culture
Fundraising & Donor Relations: Partner with the Board Chair to identify and pursue grant
opportunities, develop proposals, and complete grant reports; support major donor cultivation and
help build diverse, sustainable revenue streams
Financial Management: Work alongside the Treasurer to oversee budgeting, monitor organizational
finances, and ensure sound fiscal management
Board Relations: Serve as the primary staff liaison to the Board of Directors; prepare updates for bi-
monthly meetings, support committee work between meetings, and maintain documentation to
support effective governance
Community Engagement: Represent CCL in the community; build and sustain relationships with
volunteers, donors, partner organizations, and town stakeholders
QUALIFICATIONS
- Demonstrated leadership experience in a nonprofit, community organization, or mission-driven setting
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple concurrent responsibilities
- Experience with program management, staff oversight, and nonprofit operations
- Clear and confident written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable with budgeting, financial monitoring, and basic administrative functions
- Skilled at building and sustaining relationships with volunteers, donors, and community partners
- Genuine commitment to community service and to the people CCL serves
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with grant writing, reporting, or relationship-based fundraising
- Familiarity with the Upper Valley region, or experience working in a small New England community
- Experience working with or reporting to a volunteer board of directors
- Comfort serving as an organizational representative in public and community settings
- Understanding of the nonprofit and municipal landscape serving Upper Valley residents
- A collaborative spirit, adaptability, and a sense of humor
Benefits
This is a part-time position with a maximum of 24 hours per week. The role offers flexibility in scheduling
and work location, with an expectation of at least two days per week in the Lyme Center office. Paid time
off is provided annually.
