    Description

    About

The Democratic Party of Illinois (DPI) is hiring an Impact Director for the 2026 Coordinated Campaign. This is a historic election cycle, with the Governorship, U.S. Senate, and 17 Congressional seats at stake, along with the State Senate, State House, and critical county and local-level races across the state. DPI is building a first-of-its-kind coordinated effort to meet this challenge and win competitive races up and down the ballot.

The Impact Director is a senior member of the coordinated leadership team, and will lead the statewide impact program to mobilize constituency groups, validators, trusted messengers, and community partners in support of Democratic candidates up and down the ballot. This is a full-time, in-person position based in Chicago, Illinois.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Develop and execute a statewide impact strategy to mobilize target constituencies, coalition partners, trusted messengers, and validators—including faith leaders and small business owners—in support of the coordinated campaign
    • Build and manage the statewide impact program, including hiring and coaching staff
    • Design and implement systems, structures, and goal ramp to drive impact program performance and set, track, and exceed metric goals and benchmarks
    • Collaborate closely with internal departments to align and integrate impact strategy with organizing, communications, digital, and voter protection efforts
    • Represent DPI in coalition spaces, partner meetings, and political events
    • Cultivate and leverage relationships with candidates, coalition partners, and local leaders to strengthen support and credibility in target communities

    Required Qualifications

    • At least 3 cycles of organizing or political experience, with at least one as a Director
    • Deep ties to Illinois communities and local leaders, particularly in the Chicago area
    • Fluency in VAN and other organizing tools and platforms
    • Outstanding verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
    • Demonstrated capacity to synthesize, track, and report data
    • Proven commitment to fostering an inclusive and collaborative team culture
    • Must have a cell phone, reliable laptop, valid driver’s license, and vehicle

The salary for this position is $8,000 per month. The position concludes on November 15, 2026, with the opportunity for continued growth after the election cycle. This role requires working long and irregular campaign hours, including nights and weekends, and travel throughout the state. The position includes a full benefits package, with health, vision, and dental insurance. Additional benefits include PTO, paid parental leave, and paid sick leave.
