When you join Making Waves Academy, you push boundaries.

At Making Waves Academy (MWA), we are committed to providing a high-functioning, elite learning environment for our students. To do that, we need infrastructure that works flawlessly and a campus that stays safe. As our Operations and Safety Supervisor, you won’t just be managing a property—you will be the driving force behind the physical safety, security, and tactical operations of our 20.25-acre, 304,000 sq. ft. campus footprint.

    What you’ll be doing...

Your role is a dynamic mix of physical oversight, technical systems management, and frontline crisis leadership. You will ensure 100% operational readiness across our facilities while keeping the academy compliant with all local, state, and federal standards.

    Daily Operations & Team Leadership

    • Directing the Frontline: Lead, mentor, and schedule our internal custodial team to maintain world-class campus cleanliness and immediate functionality.
    • Tactical Patrols: Execute daily physical walkthroughs across the multi-acre footprint to identify and mitigate physical hazards, architectural maintenance needs, or security vulnerabilities before they affect our community.
    • Tech Management: Monitor, assign, and optimize incoming facilities requests using our digital Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
    • Access Control Infrastructure: Program, audit, and troubleshoot digital and physical security networks (RFID gate access, key fobs, automated door schedules, parking tracking, and alarm systems).
    • Emergency Command: Stand ready as the primary first responder and Incident Commander for immediate campus emergencies, medical incidents, or security threats.

    Compliance, Vendor Management & Logistics

    • Vendor Accountability: Act as the primary point of contact for external trade partners (HVAC, landscaping, active security, pest control). Drive the bidding process and audit their performance against strict contracts.
    • Regulatory Defense: Partner with leadership to continuously upgrade our Comprehensive School Safety Plan (CSSP), IIPP, and Workplace Violence Prevention Plans.
    • Inspection Readiness: Lead campus prep for intensive state and annual audits, including FIT (Facilities Inspection Tool), Williams Inspections, ADA compliance, and Fire Marshal reviews.

    What we’re looking for...

You are a decisive, reliable operator who takes immense pride in ownership. You know how to build a team culture of accountability, communicate professionally with stakeholders at all levels, and keep your composure when a crisis hits.

    You’ll need to have:

    • Proven Experience: 3+ years of progressive facilities management, corporate campus operations, or public safety leadership managing a large, high-traffic property footprint.
    • Leadership Background: Demonstrated experience directly supervising a team and running vendor/contractor performance checks.
    • Physical Capability: Ability to actively patrol a 20.25-acre campus on foot or golf cart daily, lift up to 50 lbs, stand or walk for up to 2 hours, navigate stairs, and run/chase for short bursts (up to 1 minute) in critical emergencies.
    • Operational Agility: Absolute commitment to punctuality and a dependable schedule, with the necessary flexibility to work occasional overtime, evenings, and weekend events.

    Equal Employment Opportunity

Making Waves Academy is an equal opportunity employer. We afford equal advancement and employment opportunities to all qualified individuals without regard to race, color, gender identity, gender expression, sex, religious creed, age, national origin, physical or mental disability, medical condition, sexual orientation, or any other consideration made unlawful by federal, state, or local laws.
