    Job Summary

    The IYC Innovation Coach will report to the IYEG Education Partnership and Program Coordinator and play a pivotal role in supporting school sites directly with program implementation. The Coach will ensure that the IYEG's innovative curriculum and professionalizing experiences are effectively integrated into school environments, empowering students to excel in their studies and future careers.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Collaborate with school administrators and teachers to implement IYEG programs and curriculum.
    • Provide hands-on support and coaching to educators on integrating IYEG’s interdisciplinary approach into their teaching practices.
    • Facilitate professional development sessions for educators on design thinking, technology integration, and challenge-based learning.
    • Support the creation and implementation of challenge-based problem prompts and student-created prototype feedback sessions.
    • Collaborate with the Education Partnerships and Program Coordinator to coordinate field trips, guest speakers, job shadowing, and other professionalizing experiences that align with IYEG’s curriculum.
    • Monitor and assess program implementation, providing feedback and recommendations for continuous improvement.
    • Assist in developing and distributing resources and materials to support program implementation.
    • Advocate for the program’s vision and mission to various stakeholders within and outside the school community.
    • Participate in regular meetings with the IYEG team to align on goals, strategies, and progress.

    Desired Skills

    • Secondary teaching/coaching experience
    • Familiarity with professionalizing experiences such as internships, job shadowing, and guest speakers.
    • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
    • Creative problem-solving skills and a passion for innovation in education.

    Credential Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Design, Technology, or a related field
    • Experience in K-12 education, with a strong understanding of curriculum development and instructional practices.
    • Expertise in design thinking, makerspace management, and technology integration.
    • Proven ability to establish and maintain partnerships with diverse stakeholders.
    • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
