    Description

    Two positions available - One serving Montgomery County Public Schools and one for Washington, DC Public Schools . AALEAD seeks an energetic and youth-centric individual to join a dynamic and committed team as a Youth Facilitation Coordinator to support afterschool, summer, and other programs, as needed. This individual will be critical in delivering age-appropriate youth development programming to advance educational empowerment, leadership, and identity for AAPI and BIPOC youth in either Montgomery County, Maryland OR Washington, DC.

    Level of Language Proficiency

    Skills and Qualifications

    • Individuals who have worked or volunteered in similar settings (e.g. summer camps for underserved youth) or a current college student, BA/BS in education, social work, AAPI studies, liberal arts, or a related field
    • Group facilitation and workshop experience (youth experience required)
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills
    • Creative delivery of workshops for middle and high school aged youth
    • Ability to identify problems and implement effective solutions and strategies
    • Commitment to providing exceptional programs to youth and support to them
    • Solid verbal and written communication skills
    • Previous experience working with and/or knowledgeable about the issues and needs ofAAPI immigrant youth and families
    • Organized, detail-oriented, and excellent time management skills
    • Ability to work on-site primarily during after-school hours and during summer programs, with the flexibility to work some evenings and weekends as scheduled
    • Fluency in any Asian language is strongly desirable
    • Reliable and consistent transportation required
