    Marketing & Outreach Manager

    Pay range: $22-$24/hr, 20hrs/week

    This is a part-time, hourly, contract position requiring 20 hours/week.

    Founded in 1980, the Neighborhood Parents Network of Chicago, (NPN),

    is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Our mission is to connect a diverse community of families with the support and resources designed to solve the challenges of parenting in Chicago.     Job Purpose

    Come join a supportive, hard-working team dedicated to bringing resources to their fellow parents in Chicago. The marketing and outreach manager is responsible for planning and executing NPN’s marketing and communications, PR, social media, and outreach. The person in this role is also responsible for meeting NPN’s registration and attendance goals for our in-person and virtual events. We seek a strong self-starter to join our dynamic team!

    1. Organized, able to work both independently and as part of a team
    2. Familiar with the needs of new and experienced parents
    3. Familiar with the needs of parents of children with developmental differences
    4. Bilingual (Spanish/English)
    5. Internally motivated to build relationships with and celebrate all types of Chicago families including but not limited to families with one parent, families of children with developmental differences, new parents, experienced parents, LGBTQIA+ parents and children, and families across all income brackets, races, and religions.

    Job Duties and Responsibilities

    1. Work with NPN leadership to develop robust content marketing plan
    2. Lead all NPN marketing & communications efforts, including email, website, social media, press announcements, community calendars, content marketing and grassroots efforts to reach prospective members and ambassadors
    3. Develop and execute a social media strategy; share relevant content, events, and benefits of membership through NPN’s social media platforms (Discussion Forum, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, BlueSky, TikTok)
    4. Manage the communication calendar, working closely with NPN’s Director of Advertising
    5. Establish cross-marketing campaigns with new and existing partners
    6. Monitor the event calendar and promote events accordingly
    7. Monitor the registration list of all virtual and in-person events, executing additional outreach efforts as-needed to reach event capacity
    8. Solicit feedback from event attendees, speakers, sponsors and hosts to continuously improve processes and meet the needs of NPN members
    9. Write the NPN Weekly newsletter, which is published every Friday at 7:00 AM.

    Other

    1. Monitor work for quality control requirements and performance metrics
    2. Manage appropriate technology functions in collaboration with NPN technology team
    3. Actively participate in monthly staff meetings and regular check-in meetings with Executive Director
    4. Solicit auction items for NPN’s annual online auction
    5. Schedule primary work hours during normal business hours

    Required Qualifications

    1. Excellent writing skills and interpersonal skills
    2. Strong social media image design skills (Canva preferred) and strong knowledge of social media algorithms
    3. Bachelor's Degree preferred
    4. Ability to work special events on evenings and weekends approximately 6-10 times per year
    5. Ability to travel throughout the city of Chicago as needed
    6. Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to address changing priorities with enthusiasm.
    7. Must have own laptop to use for day-to-day work

    Work Environment

    >All NPN staff work from home. We do not have an office.

    >Work hours are flexible. However, core work hours are 9am - 3pm Monday through Friday. We ask all staff to be available to schedule phone calls and meetings within that time frame. Most meetings and calls are scheduled in advance.

    >All staff occasionally need to work weekend or evening hours. Each staff member is responsible for taking turns in staffing the monthly weekend NPN playdates and other evening and weekend programming.
