Who We Are
CEED is a 501c3 nonprofit organization based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. We envision a
United States where a just transition has transformed our economy and democratic
processes to benefit communities and the environment. The Midwest is leading the way
by centering community needs to drive policy and implementation decisions all the way
to the National level. Our mission is to create partnerships and coalitions that build the
power necessary to advance a just transition grounded in environmental justice, climate
justice, and energy democracy. We work to ensure those most impacted by climate
change and the fossil fuel economy can actively participate in developing, winning, and
implementing environmental policies that address community needs.
We build power by building and leading effective, well-resourced, and cross-sector
coalitions—and by supporting this work through building organizing capacity, policy and
research, and narrative change—so that communities can lead just climate solutions
that protect people and the planet. Our organizational values are: Visionary,
Compassionate, Pragmatic, Mutually Accountable, Integrity, and Invested in Community.
Summary of Position
The Minnesota Environmental Justice Manager will help build CEED’s environmental justice
work in Minnesota while contributing to our broader Midwest Climate & Health Equity Hub.
This is a highly relational and analytical role for someone who can build trust with
community partners, understand emerging issues, investigate complex policy and
technical questions, and turn what they learn into useful strategies, resources, and action.
Approximately 60% of the role will focus on Minnesota environmental justice priorities,
beginning with data centers, while the remaining 40% will support Hub partners through
technical assistance, relationship-building, and shared learning. Across both areas of work,
the Manager will help identify connections and emerging opportunities, translate lessons
from individual organizations into resources that can benefit communities across the
Midwest, and ensure the work advances CEED’s Strategic Framework.

Minnesota and the Midwest. Regularly translate complex policy and technical issues
into useful information for CEED staff, community partners, and policymakers.
