    Description

U.S. Dream Academy is seeking a Program Assistant to join our Baltimore Learning Center.

For more than 25 years, U.S. Dream Academy has worked to empower children and young people through academic support, character development, and mentoring, with a special focus on children impacted by incarceration. We partner with schools and communities to provide young people with the support, relationships, and opportunities they need to reach their potential.

The Program Assistant is an essential part of our Learning Center team and works directly with elementary and middle school students during after-school programming. This role is ideal for someone with experience in youth development and/or education who enjoys engaging with young people, supporting their academic and personal growth, and helping create a positive and structured environment where students can thrive.

We’re looking for someone who can:

    • Work directly with students during daily after-school programming
    • Provide homework and academic support and assist with enrichment activities
    • Facilitate activities and keep students engaged and actively participating
    • Help maintain a safe, welcoming, structured, and youth-centered environment
    • Support smooth student transitions and daily program routines
    • Build positive and appropriate relationships with students and families
    • Work collaboratively with the Program Associate, Program Coordinator, Center Director, and other program staff
    • Bring patience, consistency, dependability, and positive energy to the Learning Center
    • Understand and respond appropriately to the needs of elementary and middle school students

Experience working with children or youth in a school, after-school program, summer program, mentoring program, recreation program, or similar setting is strongly preferred. Retired educators are encouraged to apply.

This is a great opportunity for an educator, youth development professional, or someone with strong experience working with young people who wants meaningful, hands-on work without a full-time schedule.

If you believe every young person deserves caring adults who will encourage them, challenge them, and help them recognize their potential, we’d love to hear from you.
