Description
Na'atik Language and Culture Institute, a nonprofit located off the beaten path in the Zona Maya of Quintana Roo, Mexico, provides immersion language education to local and international students. Na’atik’s English Language Programs, including the library, rely on donations to operate and enable Na’atik to offer highly subsidized English classes and extracurricular activities to local students. Our mission is to teach and learn English, Spanish and Maya through authentic intercultural experiences which promote and inspire global citizenship and contribute to the sustainable development of our local community. We have a multi-cultural staff dedicated to our students and mission.
This Fundraising Coordinator position is responsible for all Na’atik’s fundraising endeavors. The position works closely with all the departments within Na’atik, with Na'atik students and families, and reports to the Director.
The main responsibilities include:
- Creating and managing a minimum of three specific campaigns per year
- Continuing and developing the monthly donor program.
- Managing the MY Scholarship funding, student updates, and donor outreach
- Working with the English language department to keep the MY Scholarship information up-to-date
- Keeping the CRM database accurate and up-to-date
- Creating social media messaging
- Creating ethical storytelling
- Working with the communications department to keep the fundraising website pages up-to-date
- Working with the Immersion program students for potential donor conversion
- Being responsible for all donor acquisition, cultivation, stewardship, and induction
- Maintaining strong communication with the other departments for donor material and updates
- Researching and launching planned giving
- Researching and launching regional giving programs
- Researching and providing data and information for grant applications and major donor presentations
- Managing the Board of Directors of Na’atik Projects (the US nonprofit organization)
- Assisting with monthly newsletter content
Required:
- BA from a recognized university
- Knowledge of CRM databases
- Working knowledge of Google Drive: Docs, Sheets or Excel, Word
- Project management experience
- Self-starter

Level of Language Proficiency
English: Native or Highly proficient in writing and communication
Spanish: Basic (and willing to dedicate time to improve language level prior to arrival and while here)
