    Description

    The Prevention Research Center on Nutrition and Physical Activity at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health is seeking temporary research assistants to support the IMPLEMENT study, a research project focused on nutrition and physical activity practices in early childcare programs. Bilingual (Spanish/English) candidates are preferred.

    This is a temporary position (estimated at 25-35 hours/week) from October 1 through November 30, 2026. It is primarily field-based and requires regular travel to childcare programs throughout the city of Boston during program operating hours (typically 8:00am-5:00pm). Data collectors will conduct on-site data collection activities, and may complete administrative tasks, data entry, and participate in team meetings. A personal vehicle is not required, however, applicants must be able to reliably travel to study sites throughout Boston. Approved travel expenses, including mileage, parking, and transportation costs, will be reimbursed.

    • Compensation: $25-$27/ hour, commensurate with experience
    • Location: Boston and Greater Boston area, Massachusetts

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Travel to childcare programs across Boston and the Greater Boston area
    • Work with childcare providers to conduct nutrition and physical activity data collection activities, and collect policy documents related to childcare nutrition and wellness practices.
    • Communicate professionally with childcare providers and families.
    • Maintain accurate study documentation, and complete data entry and management activities according to study protocols.
    • Participate in study training sessions and team meetings.
    • Assist with other project activities as needed.

    Qualifications:

    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Nutrition, Psychology, Social Sciences, or related field.
    • Previous experience collecting research data.
    • Interest in public health nutrition research.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
    • Strong organizational skills.
    • Spanish proficiency preferred.
