    Encore Fellow (Independent Contractor) – Career360™ Workforce Development Program Manager

    Organization: Financial Wellness Institute (FWI)

    Location: Woodbury, New Jersey

    Schedule: 20–25 hours per week (Flexible)

    Duration: 6–9 months

    Compensation: $2,000 monthly stipend through the Community Foundation of South Jersey (CFSJ) Encore Fellows Initiative

    About Financial Wellness Institute

    For more than 20 years, Financial Wellness Institute (FWI) has helped individuals and families throughout South Jersey build pathways to financial stability and economic mobility. Through its innovative Thrive360™ model, FWI integrates financial wellness, career readiness, health, and community support to empower individuals to achieve lasting success.

    As part of its continued growth, FWI is expanding Career360™: Pathways to Success™, a workforce development and career readiness initiative that prepares individuals for meaningful employment while strengthening long-term economic resilience. FWI is seeking an experienced Encore Fellow to help build the partnerships, systems, and infrastructure needed to expand this high-impact program.

    The Opportunity

    This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Human Resources, Workforce Development, Talent Acquisition, Career Services, or Organizational Development professional who is ready to apply decades of expertise toward strengthening a nonprofit organization and improving employment opportunities across South Jersey.

    The Encore Fellow will work alongside FWI leadership to expand employer partnerships, strengthen community collaborations, develop operational systems, and establish sustainable practices that will support Career360™ well into the future.

    Responsibilities

    The Encore Fellow will:

    • Help refine and expand the Career360™ workforce development program
    • Develop strategic partnerships with employers across South Jersey
    • Build relationships with businesses in high-demand industries including manufacturing, healthcare, hospitality, logistics, and skilled trades
    • Establish partnerships with organizations providing supportive services such as transportation, childcare, housing, legal services, healthcare referrals, and educational support
    • Assist with marketing, outreach, and community engagement efforts
    • Recruit and coordinate volunteers supporting Career360™
    • Create systems for participant tracking, reporting, and program evaluation
    • Develop templates, dashboards, and operational documentation
    • Produce a Career360™ program playbook to support long-term sustainability and organizational growth

    Desired Qualifications

    Ideal candidates will have experience in one or more of the following:

    • Human Resources
    • Workforce Development
    • Career Coaching or Career Services
    • Talent Acquisition
    • Organizational Development
    • Nonprofit Program Management
    • Employer Relations or Business Development

    Candidates should also possess:

    • Strong relationship-building and networking skills
    • Excellent communication and organizational abilities
    • Experience developing programs or operational systems
    • Project management experience
    • A passion for workforce development and community impact

    Encore Fellow Qualifications

    Applicants must:

    • Be 55 years of age or older
    • Be eligible to serve as an independent contractor
    • Bring significant professional leadership experience
    • Be interested in applying their expertise to strengthen nonprofit capacity and expand community impact

    About the Encore Fellows Initiative

    The Community Foundation of South Jersey's Encore Fellows Initiative connects experienced professionals age 55+ with nonprofit organizations to complete strategic, capacity-building projects. Encore Fellows serve as independent contractors while using their professional experience to strengthen organizations and improve communities.
