Position Title: Bikes Together Shop Programs Lead
Wage: $24–$26/hour, depending on experience
Location: This is an in-person role at our shop at 1060 Osage St Denver, CO; potential for work at a new site nearby as well
Position Type: Full-time, Exempt (36 hours/week average annually)
Average Hours: Busy season (April–September): 40 hours/week; Slow season (October–March): 32 hours/week
Schedule: General schedule is Tuesday-Saturday, 11am-7pm with some varying hours required; Flexibility on hours and schedule is possible for the right candidate
Ideal Start Date: Spring 2026 with flexibility for the right candidate
ABOUT BIKES TOGETHER
Bikes Together is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Denver, Colorado. Since 2008, we have promoted equitable access to bicycles and bike education through recycling, education programs, and a social enterprise bike shop. Our work centers education, access, and community care.
Our team currently includes an Executive Director, Community Programs Director, Service + Operations Director Retail Lead, Retail Bike Mechanic, and several part-time and on-call staff. We work collaboratively with a strong education focus. Our board of directors includes long-time volunteers, mechanics, instructors, and community advocates, and is majority trans/women/intersex/genderqueer (TWIG), with 25% members of color.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Shop Programs Lead is a new position that oversees, executes and improves Bikes Together’s in-shop programming. This role is hands-on and people-centered, focusing primarily on our Learn & Repair (L&R) program, used parts and donation systems, and the Community Partner Bike Program (CPBP). The Shop Programs Lead plays a key role in maintaining a welcoming, safe, and well-organized shop environment for participants, volunteers, and staff.
This position reports to the Community Programs Director and works closely with shop staff and volunteers. While not a formal supervisory role, this position serves as a lead during programming and is expected to make independent decisions as needed.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Learn & Repair (L&R) Operations (50%)
Learn & Repair is Bikes Together’s appointment-based, cost-flexible repair program that pairs participants with staff and volunteers to learn hands-on bike repair.
Used Parts Area & Donations (30%)
Community Partner Bike Program (CPBP) (10%)
Shop Support & Coordination (10%)
