Background
Syrbanism leads Urban Minutes, a public communication platform that publishes plain language
briefings and multimedia bulletins on urban recovery, policy developments and Housing, Land
and Property (HLP) issues.The platform is intended to reach audiences in conflict affected and
low connectivity settings and to function as a neutral, accessible source of information.
Objective
To provide the technical implementation and IT support for the Urban Minutes platform, so that
bulletins can be published regularly and the platform performs reliably for its audiences
throughout the assignment.
Scope of work and deliverables
- Technical setup and digital workflow for the Urban Minutes platform, covering publishing,
content structure and multimedia.
- Front end and back end implementation and interface maintenance for the platform's
bulletin publishing.
- Troubleshooting, performance monitoring and technical support over the period of the
assignment.
- Hand over documentation enabling the team and network contributors to operate and
update the platform.
Note on scope
This assignment concerns the Urban Minutes platform only. It is distinct from Syrbanism's
corporate website, which is commissioned separately, and from the platform visual design, which
is commissioned separately.
Required qualifications
- Proven platform and web development and IT support experience, ideally for publishing or
media platforms;
- Ability to work in bilingual Arabic and English and low connectivity contexts;
- Availability for ongoing technical support over the period of the assignment.
Timeline
The assignment is expected to run over a period of approximately 60 to 90 days from
contracting, against a schedule to be agreed.
Cost estimate and submission
Interested providers are invited to submit, for potential contracting: a cost estimate (net of VAT)
with a brief breakdown, a short proposal outlining approach and timeline, relevant work samples,

Reporting, IP and confidentiality
The selected provider reports to the assignment lead at Syrbanism, and deliverables are subject
to review and acceptance. All deliverables, source code and the associated rights of use pass to
Syrbanism on full payment, and the provider warrants the work is original and free of third party
rights. The provider treats project information as confidential and handles any personal data in
line with applicable data protection requirements.
