    Description

    The Finance Director is a passionate, organized, and detail-oriented professional who can work both independently and as part of a dynamic team in a fast-paced mission-driven nonprofit environment. This senior-level management position will work closely across departments and programs to provide a critical role in our day-to-day operations support in the areas of finance. To be successful in this role, you should have in-depth knowledge of risk management methods and the ability to create forecasting models. Ultimately, you will ensure we manage our resources in the most beneficial way and help maximize our funding.

    The Finance Director is a team player who is reliable, engaged, and flexible; someone who can juggle multiple tasks day-to-day, takes initiative and ownership over tasks, and embraces collaboration. This position requires excellent time management, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. The Finance Director will report directly to the Executive Director.

    Core Responsibilities:

    Develop, implement, and monitor systems and processes by working with the external accounting team to ensure accounts payable and receivable are up to date and properly recorded including timely issuance of vouchers

    Oversee the agency audit by working with all external parties

    Oversee cash flow planning, creation and review of budgets and tracking operational/fiscal metrics according to department budgets

    Work with the external accounting team around budget vs actuals grant/budget reviews, reconciliation, and RFP applications

    Collaborate with the CEO and Board of Directors around the agencies financial health, present at quarterly board meetings

    Oversee all grant/funding systems to ensure agency is in compliance with all requirements and documents needed to ensure funding and reporting is timely

    Interact with funders fiscal team to ensure there is effective and timely communication including troubleshooting with reimbursement claims and disallowances

    Work with Development team to secure all related contract documents and budgets are completed and submitted as requested/required by Grant application

    Attend all meetings, retreats, committee meetings, and any other mandatory organization-wide meetings

    Collaborate with CEO and COO to review salary allocations to help ensure that proper allocations are charged to each contract and meet Labor Law and internal policy

    Develop contract budgets and budget modifications

    Conduct risk management reviews yearly

    Review financial process and make changes as needed

    Other duties as needed
