    Description

    Overview

    The Shop Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring the safety, functionality, and success of our educational programs. As a central member of our small team, the Shop Coordinator oversees our workshop operations–maintaining tools and equipment, sourcing and preparing class materials, and keeping the workshop stocked, cleaned, and organized. Related teaching opportunities may also be available.

    We are looking for a team member who thrives in collaborative, mission-driven environments and shares our enthusiasm for the arts, hands-on learning, and community engagement.

    This is a non-exempt position, with a range of 16-32 hours/week (including periodic weekends). The compensation range is $31-35/hour, plus benefits. We will begin reviewing applications on May 1st, but the position will remain open until filled.

    Key Responsibilities

    Maintain the proper working condition of all tools and equipment

    Make regular modifications and improvements to shop flow

    Procure and prepare class materials

    Order and stock shop consumables (such as hardware, sandpaper, glue, rags, brushes, toilet paper, and trash bags)

    Maintain workshop cleanliness and organization

    Establish and maintain safety policies and practices

    Orient new instructors to the workshop

    Serve as a point of contact in the workshop when visitors and participants arrive

    Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and mission-aligned organizational culture

    Participate in weekly staff meetings

    Handle additional duties as they emerge
