    Description

    We are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated current or former Children's Social Worker to support our recruitment efforts. This role provides the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of children and families.

    Organization: The Academy Project/The Co-Op/Camp Xavier

    Location: Hybrid, with weekly in person meeting in Pico-Union, Los Angeles, CA

    Position Type: Freelance/Temporary/Part time, Approximately 20 hours/week.

    Compensation $25/hr Plus Generous Commission

    Immediate Hire: We are looking to fill this position as soon as possible.

    Qualifications

    • Current or Former Children’s Social Worker (desired)
    • Minimum 4 years xxperience working with LAUSD/ DCFS/DMH (required).
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively (required).
    • Extensive knowledge of the foster care system and its policies (desired).
    • Experience working with foster youth and a deep understanding of the challenges they face (required).
    • Active social work licensure and relevant certifications (desired).
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with diverse groups (required).
    • Familiarity with outreach methodologies and recruitment best practices (desired).
    • A passion for supporting vulnerable children, families and advancing social equity (required)..

    Key Responsibilities

    Outreach and Recruitment--lead efforts in identifying and engaging middle-school-aged foster youth for our program.

    • Use your netowrk and experience to connect with foster care agencies, schools, community organizations, DCFS and other key stakeholders, to recruit youth for our programs, both in person and virtually.
    • Cultivate and grow partnerships with middle school Pupil Services and Attendance (PSA) Counselors, Specialized Student Services (SSS) Counselors, Therapists, FFA's and CSW’s to support ongoing recruitment and outreach efforts.
    • Frequent in-person meetings/visits with stakeholders
