    Description

READ 718 Program Manager – Boerum Hill

READ 718 is a Brooklyn-based literacy nonprofit providing individualized, evidence-based literacy instruction to students in grades 3–8 who have fallen behind in reading and come from low-income households. We are committed to advancing educational equity and ensuring that Brooklyn children have access to the individualized literacy support they need to thrive.

Our immediate goal is for students to strengthen their reading skills and make meaningful progress toward reading at or above grade level. Our broader goal is to positively impact students’ long-term educational and life outcomes by building strong foundational literacy skills, confidence, and a love of reading.

    Position Overview

The Program Manager will oversee the daily programming and operations of READ 718’s Boerum Hill literacy center (420 Atlantic Avenue), working closely with the Executive Director, program team, and Program Associate. This is a great opportunity for an educator who is excited to work directly with students, families, volunteers, and community partners in an out-of-school learning environment.

The Program Manager should be passionate about literacy education and educational equity and skilled at building strong relationships with children and adults. We are looking for someone who is organized, collaborative, flexible, solutions-oriented, and knowledgeable about literacy instruction.
