    Description

    About ROMP

The Range of Motion Project (ROMP) is an international nonprofit organization dedicated to ensuring access to high-quality prosthetic care for underserved individuals, improving mobility and independence. With operations in Guatemala, Ecuador, and the United States, ROMP’s work is guided by the values of Human Dignity, Empowerment, Sustainability, and Community.

    About the Role

ROMP is seeking a proactive, highly organized, and detail-oriented Development Assistant to join our Global Development team.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys combining fundraising, donor engagement, communications, storytelling, technology, data, and organization. The Development Assistant will support the day-to-day execution of ROMP’s fundraising and development activities while helping strengthen donor relationships, improve systems and processes, and communicate ROMP’s impact to supporters around the world.

We are looking for someone who takes ownership of their work, follows through, learns quickly, pays attention to details, and is comfortable managing multiple priorities in a collaborative international environment.

    What You’ll Do

    In this role, you will:

    • Support individual giving, donor stewardship, donor communications, and donor engagement initiatives.
    • Coordinate fundraising campaigns and appeals, including peer-to-peer, Giving Tuesday, year-end, and other fundraising initiatives.
    • Administer digital fundraising platforms, donation forms, campaign pages, and online giving systems.
    • Write and develop compelling fundraising communications, newsletters, website content, blogs, patient stories, and impact stories.
    • Manage email marketing activities, audience segmentation, testing, distribution, and performance analysis.
    • Maintain accurate donor and supporter information in ROMP’s CRM and support ongoing database quality and organization.
    • Support peer-to-peer fundraisers, fundraising volunteers, and community-led fundraising initiatives.
    • Help improve Development systems, workflows, documentation, templates, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
    • Support grant, institutional, corporate, sponsorship, and partnership fundraising activities.
    • Assist with fundraising events, donor engagements, community activities, and other external events.
    • Collaborate with Development, Programs, Finance, clinical teams, and leadership across ROMP’s international operations.

    What We’re Looking For

    Required:

    • A university degree from an accredited institution or, in lieu of a degree, at least five years of professional experience working in nonprofit/NGO organizations.
    • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish, with strong written and verbal communication skills in both languages.
    • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and follow-through.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, meet deadlines, and take ownership of responsibilities.
    • Strong interpersonal and professional communication skills.
    • Ability to handle confidential donor and organizational information appropriately.
    • Proficiency in Google Workspace.
    • Working knowledge of major social media platforms.
    • Ability and willingness to learn CRM systems, fundraising platforms, and other digital tools.

We’d especially love to hear from you if you have experience with:

Fundraising or nonprofit Development; donor stewardship; CRM or donor management systems; fundraising campaigns or peer-to-peer fundraising; copywriting and storytelling; email marketing; fundraising events; website management, SEO, or analytics; donor and fundraising data; or photography and visual storytelling.

A valid passport and U.S. tourist visa are preferred but not required.

    Work Arrangement

This is a hybrid position based in Guatemala, combining remote work with regular in-person work at ROMP locations in Guatemala City.

The position requires approximately 40 hours of availability per week. Occasional evening, weekend, holiday, and field activities may be required, with equivalent compensatory time off.

Candidates must be willing to participate in occasional travel and field activities, including travel to rural or remote areas in Guatemala and Ecuador and potentially other countries.

    Compensation & Time Off

    • USD $1,250 per month under an independent contractor agreement with ROMP Global.
    • 15 paid days off per year.
    • U.S. federal holidays observed as paid non-working days.
    • Annual Christmas and New Year closure as additional paid non-working time.
    • One additional paid day off for your birthday.

Who Will Thrive in This Role

You may be a great fit if you are someone who sees what needs to be done and takes initiative; enjoys creating order, systems, and processes; communicates clearly and warmly; is comfortable switching between creative and analytical work; and genuinely enjoys supporting a mission-driven organization.

This role offers the opportunity to contribute across many areas of nonprofit Development while working with an international team committed to expanding access to prosthetic care.
