Duke HomeCare and Hospice

  • Mission

To put the person who needs care at the center of everything they do, providing innovative, thoughtful care that achieves the best possible outcomes for patients, families, and communities

    About Us

Duke HomeCare & Hospice is a division of Duke University Health System that provides compassionate, patient-centered care to individuals in their homes, assisted living facilities, nursing facilities, and inpatient settings throughout the Triangle region of North Carolina.

Hospice care focuses on enhancing quality of life for patients facing a life-limiting illness by addressing their physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs. Care is provided by an interdisciplinary team that includes physicians, nurses, social workers, chaplains, hospice aides, bereavement counselors, and trained volunteers who work together to support both patients and their families.

Duke HomeCare & Hospice is committed to helping patients live as fully and comfortably as possible while providing guidance, dignity, and support throughout the end-of-life journey. Services include pain and symptom management, emotional and spiritual support, caregiver education, bereavement services, and specialized programs such as veteran recognition and volunteer support.

Each year, hundreds of volunteers contribute thousands of hours of service, helping to bring comfort, companionship, and meaningful moments to patients and families during one of life's most important transitions.
