  • Mission

They left behind art, music, and writing the world never saw or heard.

The Artist Lives Gallery is a nonprofit platform dedicated to showcasing the creative work left behind by those who passed without recognition. Their stories shouldn’t end with how they died. Many lost their lives to opioid overdose or suicide. Others to cancer, chronic illness, tragic accidents, or COVID. Some were young. Others were older. But they all had one thing in common:

    They created.

Their families are left with more than grief, they’re left holding notebooks full of poems, songs that were never heard, paintings no one ever saw. We help them share it. Because being able to say, “This is what my child made. This is who they were,” is sometimes the only light in the darkness.

We’re here to make sure that creativity doesn’t disappear. That their memory doesn’t fade into silence. That the world sees what they left behind, and remembers them for it.

    About Us

The Artist Lives Gallery was founded by Andrea Magder in memory of her son, Ethan, a young writer whose work was never seen. After his passing, Andrea discovered notebooks filled with untold stories and the beginning of a novel.

This led to a profound realization: many people leave behind art, music, or writing that often gets tossed out or forgotten after they're gone.

The Artist Lives Gallery was created to change that.
