The Ben Moody Foundation

  • Mission

The Ben Moody Foundation honors Ben’s legacy by educating the public on the benefits of skateboarding for positive mental and physical health. We also provide resources for hope, healing, and support for those bereaved by suicide loss.

    About Us

We envision a world where the stigma of suicide loss, and the isolation created by that stigma is no longer a barrier in the healing journey of those who suffer. In memory of Ben's love of skateboarding, we hope that skateboarding is recognized not only as a sport, but as a powerful vehicle for healing, connection, and empowerment. Through our work, we strive to build a compassionate community that offers both vulnerability and Joy. Where youth thrive, suicide loss survivors find understanding and support, and grief is met with tenderness—not silence. In this community, no one faces pain alone.

    What We Believe

    • Skateboarding is more than a sport—it’s a lifeline, a form of expression, and a path to resilience.
    • Healing from suicide loss is a deeply personal journey, and no one should have to navigate it alone.
    • Grief deserves space, compassion, and community—especially for those who have lost a loved one to suicide.
    • Movement, creativity, and connection are powerful tools for supporting mental health and processing pain.
    • Every young person deserves a safe, inclusive space where they feel seen, supported, and free to be themselves.

    In Loving Memory of Ben

Ben Moody had a fearless spirit and a gift for making people laugh. A talented skateboarder, he was always the first to try the biggest tricks—and the first to cheer on others to do the same. Beneath his boldness was a deep bravery, as he worked hard to overcome social anxiety and build meaningful connections with friends, family, and loved ones. His legacy lives on through the joy he found in skateboarding and the compassion he shared with everyone around him.
