  • Mission

Since 1972, FISH has been providing Lexington MA residents free rides to medical appointments in Lexington and vicinity, including Boston.

FISH relies exclusively on volunteers to provide rides and on donations from generous Lexington residents and organizations to cover operating expenses.

    About Us

We serve Lexington MA residents, primarily seniors, by offering free rides to medical appointments. We provide about 600 round trip rides each year, with about 100 volunteers. We have two primary volunteer roles, drivers and phoners. Phoners pair up the available scheduled drivers with the client ride requests, and we successfully fulfill almost all ride requests although we do cap our rides at 4 per day. The volunteer commitment for drivers and phoners can be as little as one day a month. With more drivers we could increase our maximum number of rides in a day.
