  • Mission

    TRACK TWO’s mission is to form cultural, social, and intellectual exchanges among influencers across conflict-ridden nations and cultural-ethnic lines to contribute to greater mutual understanding as a means of advancing the spirit of collaboration needed for positive social change.

    About Us

    For more than thirty-six years Track Two: An Institute for Citizen Diplomacy (Track Two) has convened cultural and intellectual leaders from countries in conflict in immersive workshops and conferences to stimulate discussions, forge relationships and activate networks. These networks have in turn established formal partnerships in healthcare, peacebuilding, space exploration, literature, journalism, and the visual and performing arts. Our work has brought successful practices in conflict resolution, collaborative communications and emotional and psychological development to participants.

    Cooperation around nuclear threats, climate change and mass migrations from war-torn areas is needed urgently. Track Two is responding to this urgency by growing its network of participants and its programs to invite cross-cultural expression, public discourse and all available means to shift perceptions. Currently we are managing and developing three projects:

    • a Russian American Program 2018 conference on youth, the media and cultural perception being held in Saint Petersburg, Russia in September 2018;
    • the International Abrahamic Network program conference on women and leadership in peacebuilding in 2019; and
    • a Northern Pacific Rim (topic to be decided) conference in 2020.
    Respect for national and regional tradition and identity and recognition of a holistic global community are the foundations of our work.
