Dismas House of Indiana

  • Mission

Dismas House fosters healing, belonging, and self-determination for individuals returning from incarceration by empowering them to build lives they are proud of. Together, we help reduce stigma, strengthen families, and expand opportunity—creating safer, more connected communities.

    About Us

Dismas House of Indiana provides long-term residential support and community-based programming for individuals returning from incarceration. Our work centers on dignity, accountability, and belonging—creating space for people to rebuild their lives within a supportive, values-driven community.

Residents live in shared homes where they engage in structured programming, peer support, and leadership development over the course of their stay. We emphasize personal responsibility, community connection, and skill-building, while also addressing the real barriers people face after incarceration—housing instability, employment challenges, stigma, and family reintegration.

In addition to our residential program, the Dismas Hub serves as a community space offering peer groups, mentorship, entrepreneurship support, and access to resources for justice-impacted individuals and their families.

The Director of Resident Life plays a critical role in this work—supporting a healthy residential culture, guiding staff, and ensuring that each home reflects the values of accountability, respect, and belonging that define Dismas.
