The National Association for the Education of Homeless Children and Youth (NAEHCY) is a national community dedicated to advancing educational equity and excellence for children and youth experiencing homelessness. Through technical assistance and the sharing of promising practices, NAEHCY strengthens the capacity of educators, service providers, and advocates nationwide. In partnership with stakeholders, NAEHCY also works to advance public policy and support the academic success of approximately 1.5 million children and youth experiencing homelessness.
NAEHCY’s members represent a diverse network of professionals across early childhood, K–12, and postsecondary education systems, as well as community-based organizations and public agencies. Together, they work to ensure school access, stability, and success for students experiencing homelessness in every state.
In addition to professional learning and capacity-building opportunities, NAEHCY leads national efforts to elevate student voice, strengthen cross-system collaboration, and advance public policy that supports educational access and achievement. The association also invests directly in students through scholarship programs and leadership development opportunities for youth who have experienced homelessness.
