I Want To Mow Your Lawn ®

I Want To Mow Your Lawn® is an all-volunteer-powered 501(c)(3) nonprofit (Tax ID: 85-3447661) providing completely free light yard maintenance — mowing, trimming and edging, bush trimming, brush and leaf removal, and seasonal cleanup — to older adults, military veterans, people with disabilities, and neighbors facing financial hardship. This is real-world, tangible relief you can see the moment the work is done — a safer walkway, a reclaimed yard, a neighbor who knows someone showed up for them.

Launched in 2020 during the pandemic, we've grown into a nationwide network of 1,800+ volunteers across all 50 states. More than 10,000 neighbors have reached out for help, and our volunteers have completed nearly 3,000 tracked visits — with hundreds of volunteer hours logged on our platform — one lawn, one neighbor at a time. There are no paid staff. Every trimmed hedge and cleared yard is simply a volunteer helping someone nearby.

At our core, we operate as a matchmaker — and a trust builder. Homeowners, caregivers, and case managers submit requests; we connect them with volunteers nearby. Volunteers stay in the driver's seat: take on whatever you're comfortable doing, whether that's cutting back overgrown grass, edging a walkway, trimming bushes, or hauling away brush and leaves. Often a visit is the tip of the iceberg for a household that needs more than one afternoon can give — but it's the visit that builds trust and gets things moving. And with America's population aging fast, demand keeps growing — at our peak, we receive 60 to 75 new homeowner requests every single day. That's why we need more helpers, everywhere.
