Mission
Damon House, Inc. is a private nonprofit social service agency with a threefold mission.
- Dedicated to the rehabilitation for those suffering with substance use disorders and co-occurring psychiatric illnesses.
- Encourage people with substance use disorders to seek treatment and to aid them in independent living.
- Enhance public awareness of the nature and effects of the illicit use of drugs and to stimulate public interest in the benefits of treatment and re-socialization.
About Us
Damon House was incorporated in 1971 as a nonprofit long-term residential treatment and recovery program designed to transform lives, families, and communities. It was named after the famous Greek myth of Damon and Pythias which illustrates the Pythagorean ideal of friendship. The Damon Foundation was incorporated in 1981 and was specifically established as the funding arm of Damon House. For over 40-years, Damon House has been a beacon of hope, reinvention, and transformation for thousands of clients and families impacted by substance use disorder and drug dependence.
