Blau House & Gardens

We seek to acquire and transform Blau House & Gardens into a community resource for educational programming dedicated to horticulture, arts, and culture.

Blau House & Gardens is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and Level I Accredited Arboretum in Westport, CT, dedicated to preserving a mid-century historic landmark and transforming it into a vibrant public asset for horticulture, arts, and community education. We protect a 1962 "Carpenter Modern" residence and its two acres of interlocking garden rooms, offering a peaceful, creative sanctuary for nature lovers, artists, and students.

A core pillar of our mission is the Mid-Century Flowering Project. This interactive history initiative honors and explores the rich, post-WWII arts community of Westport and Weston. By bridging environmental stewardship with local heritage, we value historical preservation, environmental literacy, and artistic expression—serving a multigenerational audience through guided tours, youth nature workshops, and outdoor cultural events.
